Chapter 319
Chapter 319:
She examined her own body in the bathroom and felt relieved.
Even though she didn’t remember anything from last night, her body wasn’t lying to her.
Nothing happened last night.
After showering, she began to collect any possible evidence that was in the room. The first thing she saw was the watch. It had to be Leon’s.
So it was Leon who had taken her to the room last night, then her clothes? it all made little sense, but she didn’t hesitate to call Leon.

It rang for quite a while before the call was answered. And the first thing Hayden heard was the airport announcement.
“Leon, where are you?” He frowned.
“At the airport.” Leon sounded much more distant than usual. He sounded like a totally different person, “I’m waiting for my flight. I’m boarding in five minutes, I’ve been waiting for your call.”
Hayden paused for a second.
“What do you mean, what happened last night?”.
“Nothing. That’s all I can tell you.” Leon sounded conflicted, “I can’t tell you much. But you’ll know soon enough. I’m really sorry, Hayden.”
“Hello?” Hayden had more questions to ask, but Leon hung up. When he dialed him again, he could only hear the answering machine.
At the airport, Leon glanced at his phone. He had just received a message, notifying him that a transfer had been made to his account. He laughed, mocking himself. He exhaled a long sigh as his assistant told him to get in line. He turned off the phone and tossed the chip in the wastebasket.
He would probably never return to this city.
The plane left a wake in the sky over N City, a city from which some leave in a hurry and others stay to face their ordeal.
Hayden received a call from Anna after leaving the hotel. Anna told him that a contract they had been negotiating about for some time had finally closed and asked him to sign the contact at the downtown golf course this afternoon.
So Hayden finally went home, took another shower and changed.
As she was putting on her makeup, looking at herself in the mirror, she suddenly realized how tough she had become now. She wouldn’t have been quiet if it had been a few years ago.
How she took it was simple. No big deal if nothing happened.
At 2 p.m., Hayden found Anna outside the golf course.
“I’m here.”
Hayden rolled down the window and waved Anna over.
Anna trotted over and climbed into the car. The course was members-only; Anna couldn’t get in without Hayden’s company.
“Sorry I’m a little late.”
“That’s okay, I just got here.” Anna buckled in, “This deal with HM Group has been long negotiated. The team was going to resign, but this morning we got a call from HM Group. They said they are satisfied with our new budget and agreed to sign a contact.”
“That’s it – they didn’t say anything else?” Hayden was incredulous, “I’ve heard that HM Group is a very complicated company to do business with, especially with their team of consultants. They didn’t say anything about visiting our company?”
Anna shook her head. “That’s why I was surprised. If they send a team to our company, it will be such a long process that I’m afraid we won’t complete the contract by the end of the year.”
“What?” Hayden looked sideways at Anna, a smile in his eyes, “You’re afraid I’ll make you work on New Year’s Eve?”
“I’m not afraid.” Anna smiled back, “It won’t be a big deal for me, though. I’m just afraid the factory will be empty on New Year’s Eve. By then, who can we blame if we can’t supply the goods on time?”
“Who’s in charge of the HM Group?” Hayden asked.
Hayden didn’t know the details of this case because she is hardly involved.
“The assistant manager of the produce department, that’s Tomas.” Anna took a quick glance around and lowered her voice, “He’s hard to deal with, he’s kind of mean. What’s he thinking signing the contact here?”
The QZ golf course was the best in N City. An Assistant Manager who didn’t own shares shouldn’t be allowed in. Odd that he would ask to sign the contract here.
But Hayden didn’t delve into that, anyway, weird things happen in this world every day.
Following Anna, he entered the clubhouse.
As soon as they entered they saw Tomas. He is tall and has a square face.
As Anna had just told him, he looked like a bad person.
Anna introduced them.
“Mr. Johnson. Miss Hayden.”
“A pleasure. Your reputation precedes you, Miss Hayden.” Tomas held out his hand.
Hayden took his hand and said gravely. “I’m flattered, Mr. Johnson. I had never contacted you before, but I let Anna be the one responsible for the negotiation. May I invite you to lunch tonight as an apology for my insolence?”
“I appreciate your gesture.” Tomas smiled, “But I came with a friend, I think it would be best not to bother you.”
“You could come with us if you don’t mind.”
Hayden would invite a dozen of his friends to dinner if the contract was signed, too easily he would accept just one.
Tomas nodded.
“Then I guess I shouldn’t refuse anymore, I guess.”
“What about the contract?”
“Don’t worry.” Tomas waved his hands. “Nice weather today, how about we take a walk outside? This place is really perfect for golfing.”
As long as you don’t sign a contract, party A remains a God. And you don’t defy the will of the God.
Hayden had no choice but to go change in the locker room with Anna. After changing, they went to the course with Tomas.
“Are you a golf fan, Mr. Tomas?” Hayden asked.
“I don’t like it very much. But my friend does like it, he’s a pro. You could say he’s my golf coach.”noveldrama
“Is that so?” Anna smiled, “Maybe he and Miss Hayden can play a game. Miss Hayden plays very good golf.”
Anna saw Hayden play golf on one occasion. Although she didn’t know much about golf, she could tell that Hayden was a really good player.
“That would be perfect. My friend is desperate for an opponent.” Tomas waved to someone in the distance and yelled, “Mr. Beckham! Over here!”
Beckham. The name struck Hayden.
