No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric)

Chapter 124

"Ms. Liddell, please come in."

Noelle saw that Frank was also there. With a calm expression, she said, "I've integrated the tested code into the software, and the work is complete. If there's nothing else, I'll be leaving now." "Noelle, I knew you wouldn't disappoint me. I never realized you had so many talents."

He had never expected her to solve the firewall issue. He had hired so many people to solve the issue without success, but she had solved it in just two days.noveldrama

With a satisfied look, he said, "Now, I'm even more at ease handing this company to you to manage."

"I don't want it," Noelle refused, turning to James. "Just transfer the payment as agreed."

She didn't want to stay any longer.

Frank grew anxious and stood up to block her path. "Noelle, running the company is far more meaningful than doing live streams, and it will be much more profitable. I'm doing this for your own good." There it was again for her own good!

Noelle's expression remained calm. "Frank, are you really doing this for my sake, or is it because you want to control everything about me?"

If she returned, things would return to how they were before. He had always chased after her, unable to accept her stepping out of his control.

He froze. "How could you think that? I'm only trying to do right by you, to make up for the things I owe you."

He saw the wariness in her eyes, and a pang of guilt struck his chest. He hadn't expected her to distrust him so much.

Noelle's tone remained steady. "If you truly want what's best for me, stop doing these meaningless things."

She turned and opened the office door, noticing Xenia standing outside with an unpleasant expression. Without sparing her a glance, Noelle returned to her desk, packed her things, and left. Frank staggered a few steps forward but ultimately didn't chase after her. His face was grim.

Xenia felt bitter inside. Why couldn't she beat Noelle's rebellious attitude despite her years of effort?

Suppressing her frustration, she walked up to Frank, acting calm. "Frank, I believe Noelle will understand your intentions one day."

Frank smiled wryly. "Maybe."

Observing her gentle approach, James felt resentful but didn't dare say anything, as it was a family matter.

Noelle left the company and went

home. Not long after, James called her. "Ms. Liddell, our collaborators insist on having a technical specialist come for the handover before continuing the collaboration. Could you join us tomorrow?"

Noelle frowned. "I can, but I won't be taking responsibility for the follow-up, and I don't want them to know who I am."

"No problem. It's all set. The finance department has already transferred the payment. Please check your account." After hanging up, James turned to Frank. "Mr. Liddell, everything's arranged."

"How did you manage to get Noelle to agree?"

James' expression grew complicated. "Maybe because I'm just an outsider. Ms. Liddell is kind and doesn't want to make things difficult for me."

Frank chuckled bitterly. "I don't even know how to talk to her anymore."

The next day, when Noelle was heading downstairs to take a taxi to the collaborator's company, she saw Frank's car. She pretended not to notice and got into the taxi.

She couldn't easily forget the harm

she had suffered in her past life.

When Noelle arrived at the collaborator's company, she went with Frank. As a technical specialist, she personally tested the software and confirmed that there were no issues.

The manager from the collaborator's company received a call, stood up immediately, and said, "Our boss is back."

The meeting room door opened, and two people walked in.

Noelle froze for a moment. Wasn't that Alfred and Cedric? Were they the owners of this company?
