Chapter 313
Chapter 313 A Gun Pressed Against Her Head
So quiet?
There might be an ambush.
Better to be cautious.
Isabel turned sideways, pushed open the door, and stepped inside, every muscle tensed and alert.
The moment she entered, the lights suddenly turned on.
Nearly ten people faced the door, one of them seated in a chair, idly playing with a knife.
"Lone Wolf, I've heard so much about you. It's a pleasure to finally meet you in person."
Isabel's eyes narrowed coldly, her expression turning icy.
"Enough with the pleasantries. I've got what you wanted."
She said this as she reached into her pocket.
The leader's piercing gaze followed every movement she made.
Isabel took her time, pulling out the item with measured caution. Suddenly ...noveldrama
Isabel's gaze shot up toward the window.
"Who's there?!"
Her loud shout instantly drew everyone's attention.
In that split second, Isabel yanked something from her pocket.
That was a can of spray.
With a sharp hiss, she pressed down, releasing the spray.
By the time they reacted, the mist of the drug spray had already stung their eyes.
"Oh no! It's a trap! Run!"
Trying to escape?
Isabel's gaze locked onto the leader as her wrist flicked, releasing a gleaming knife from her sleeve.
In one swift motion, she lunged forward, pressing the blade against his throat.
What's happening inside?
Richie had arrived early, with his men lying in wait nearby.
This scene left him baffled.
Weren't they supposed to be making a deal? Why were they turning on each other?
Had the negotiation fallen apart?
That didn't add up...
"Who the hell are you?" The leader's gaze sharpened, clearly thinking that the person before him wasn't Lone Wolf.
Lone Wolf was the alliance's top agent. She had taken on the mission, so she shouldn't be making moves against him.
It wasn't just him; even Richie, watching from the outside, shared the same doubt.
The speed at which the person
moved didn't seem as impressive as the rumors suggested. It was as if they were deliberately slowing down, holding back their full strength.
en
If that was the case, what was she holding back for?
Isabel felt a slight discomfort in her abdomen. She had used about 80%
abdoength earlier. Although her
of her
stomach felt a bit uneasy, it was still within her tolerance.
"You don't need to know who I am," Isabel said coldly, locking eyes with the leader. "Just answer one question."
The leader narrowed his eyes. "What's your connection to the Nelsons?"
Richie's pupils dilated as he stared intently at Isabel.
Isabel shifted her elbow, and the knife left a shallow yet distinct cut across the leader's throat, a few drops of crimson blood trickling down the blade.
"I'm the one asking questions. Answer me!"
The leader gritted his teeth.
"Fine. Go ahead."
"Why did you issue this mission?" Isabel asked coldly.
"I can't say " the leader gritted out. Before he could finish, Isabel's foot struck his knee with brutal force.
Crack! It broke.
"Argh!" he screamed as he collapsed, falling to the ground.
"Speak!"
His face drained of color, cold sweat beading on his forehead.
Isabel also felt a bit unwell. She'd gotten so worked up that she'd strained her stomach.
Pregnancy was certainly getting in the way.
"I really can't say "
"If you don't speak, I'll crush your little brother!" Isabel's patience finally ran out.
She wasn't naive-she could tell the leader was stalling on purpose.
Suddenly, a figure emerged from behind her, a gun barrel pressed against her head.
What do you think?
